Yep. I know. I’m terrible at this.
The good thing is, I don’t live on my blog anymore. My blog is not my only friend, or the only thing I think about, or where I rush after having a long/crappy day. Those things I can appreciate, but I wish I was better at updating this month.
Today, I am thankful for my girly side.
By no means am I the girliest girl I have ever known, and by a lot of standards, I am pretty tomboyish. I don’t like lipstick, I’m not a fan of heels, and I rarely curl my eyelashes. I am, however, a hopeless romantic and believer of beautiful things. The color purple, for example, is my absolute favorite color in the world. Why? Because it reminds me of romance, fairies, lilacs (my favorite flower) and softness. I also covet scarves. Not the “keep you warm” kind, but the flowing fringe scarves that come in beautiful patterns and colors. I own so many of these that it’s almost ridiculous, and I was extremely upset when I lost my purple one in May.
One of my favorite girly things is red nail polish. I swear, I have been constantly wearing red nail polish since this time last year. There is something so satisfying about getting my nails done, and walking out with the shiniest and most awesome red color.
Girly side, I am thankful for you because you make me a nicer person. That might sound strange, because so many girls out there are girly and bitchy. For me, it’s the opposite. When I feel girly and pretty, I feel confident, and confidence (for me) translates into happiness which makes me a much nicer person.
So, cheers to that:)
