‘Winter is Coming’

“For those who believe in God, most of the big questions are answered. But for those of us who can’t readily accept the God formula, the big answers don’t remain stone-written. We adjust to new conditions and discoveries. We are pliable. Love need not be a command nor faith a dictum. I am my own god. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us.”

Not in a real blogging mood these days, but I wanted to post that because it’s nice. Confident. Calming even.

I’ve been watching so much Game of Thrones lately that it’s taken over my dreams, and I’m okay with it mostly, except all the yelling in my head. It’s pretty much the perfect show for me, magical, sassy and addicting. The above quote has nothing to do with the show, but putting the two together in the same post is kind of fitting.

/sigh

Back to work.

  1. I enjoy this quote as well as the last. My best friend from college and I are going rounds (in my head) about God. I will never tell her this- (this is why it’s in my head) but the general idea is she seems to think that God will make the right decisions for her in every aspect of life. I tend to think that she needs to accept that she can bring good/bad by her decisions. Ugh!

    Life.
