Another weekend gone, and what the hell. Just in time for me to get comfortable too.
I saw Avatar on Saturday, and MAN, it was incredible. Sure, the special effects were amazing and all, but it was the story that captured me. The pure beauty of it, and the way it made me feel…I almost cried. I will definitely see it again in the theatre, and buy it on dvd.
That’s saying something.
Yesterday, I went to get my tattoo touched up across the street. I forgot how much it hurt, and I also forgot how much I loved that pain. It means something, even when nothing else does.
Afterwards, the graffiti guys were out in the parking garages, so I went over to say hi. Week after week, the beautiful designs and colors hold my attention, and I figured that I needed to make friends. They were reluctant at first, and very engrossed in their work, but they talked to me after awhile. My friend Elizabeth took pictures (sans faces), and we watched. Art is art, in any capacity, and this morning showed me their finished pieces.
I love Tacoma. Small, but beautiful.
My Things I’m Learning at Twenty Five list is updated. It’s going to be my one evolving document this year, so I’ll link to it as it grows. 2010 is going to be an interesting one.
“It seems to me we can never give up longing and wishing while we are alive. There are certain things we feel to be beautiful and good, and we must hunger for them.”
Happy Monday.
